Lia stepped away in November to pursue her career in nursing. We’re super proud and happy for her! She’s still leading our weekly activities at Plum Creek on Tuesdays, but we definitely miss having her around every day!
With Lia’s departure, we’re excited to introduce you to our new Operations Director, Caitlin Little. Here’s what she has to say about herself and her new role:
“I am thrilled to be officially joining the Mission 2540 team. This ministry is one that I have been passionate about for most of my life. I first discovered Mission 2540 when I was 14 years old. They were needing a few extra counselors for Camp Awesome at the time, and I rounded up a some of my friends to give it a try. I instantly fell in love with all these sweet kiddos and knew it was something I wanted to continue to be a part of. I continued serving with Mission 2540 throughout high school by going to North Grand Villas every Thursday to be a part of their weekly kids club. Following high school, I moved to Abilene for a few years and got my degree in Psychology from Abilene Christian University, not knowing exactly what I want to do career-wise. Once I was back in Amarillo, I had the opportunity to rejoin Mission 2540 and be a part of starting the kids club at High Plains Ranch where I assisted for several months.
Recently, my husband and I have been praying a lot about career opportunities for myself and God graciously opened this door to a full-time position here with Mission 2540. God is good! I am having so much fun working with and getting to build relationships with so many families at the apartments we serve. Joining when I did, I hit the ground running with our 20 year celebration and Christmas right around the corner, but it has been such a blessing to witness the generosity of our community and the joy that we get to share with these families. I am grateful for the chance to continue to learn and take on new challenges with this ministry and am looking forward to what God has in store for Mission 2540 as we enter 2025.”
