Well August was certainly a wild a crazy month for us! We kicked things off with Camp Awesome, spending 3 very fun (and very hot!) days at Hidden Falls Ranch. It was a special time for our kids, and they made so many great memories. Watching them hike, ride, climb, swim – and just be kids – is such a special thing. Huge thanks to all our volunteers who helped drive us down and/or stayed all 3 days with those crazy kids!

We came back from camp and handed out over 160 backpacks filled with school supplies. This alleviates a huge financial burden for our families. We’re so grateful for ACTS Community Downtown for hosting our backpack handout!

It was then on to our annual Choice Media Golf Scramble. We had 108 golfers come out, have fun, raise money, and try not to melt. We’re so grateful to all our sponsors who made it a huge success. Fundraisers like the golf scramble ensure that we can continue doing what we do each and every week.

In the midst of all that fun, we continued to meet each week, wrapped up a summer of water balloon fights, and had to say good-bye to two of our very special Activity Coordinators. Matthew and Kylee each had to head off to school for the Fall semester. The kids already miss them and are asking when they’ll come back to visit. We’re so grateful for the connections and impacts they made on so many of our families.
