It’s been over a month since we last posted – and that’s because we’ve been too busy! We had a youth group from Huntsville, TX come up the last week of June, and a group from Frisco come here the week of July 19. Both put on our ever popular “Week of Fun” on all 7 of our properties. Our kids got to play games, eat snacks, hear stories, sing songs, and make a whole bunch of new friends. In addition, the youth group from The Church at Bushland came out the first week of July for their annual fun with our Cathy’s Pointe and North Grand Villas crews. After not being able to host mission groups last year because of Covid, it was a huge treat to get to see so many new faces and give our kids tons of fun things to do. In between all of that fun, we had our usual weekly afternoon Bible studies and water balloon craziness each and every day. Summer has flown by, and we’re soaking up each and every minute of it!
The RIdgecrest kids learning from Fellowship of Huntsville. The Church at Bushland’s legendary giant slip ‘n slide. Our friends at Amarillo Garden Community got in the fun with the youth from First Baptist Frisco. Baseball with the Frisco kids at Glenwood. Hit it into the swimming pool for a homer! Huntsville provided lots of one on one attention for our little group at Plum Creek. Cypress Creek is always full of kids ready to have some fun. Jayden at Spring Terrace is always good for a laugh. He got hot and thought maybe the empty water balloon cooler would help. “Splish, Splish, Splash” which is a much wetter and wilder variation of “Duck, Duck, Goose” was a huge hit at Spring Terrace. And a great way to beat the heat!
