Summer is underway, and we’ve already had an eventful first month – with more action on the way. We kicked off the summer fun with the Hillside Student Ministry. They brought games, water, bounce houses, and lots of new friends. They even brought the Amarillo Fire Department to Cathy’s Pointe to cool us off from the triple digit heat.
On Tuesday the 15th, Advanced Eye Care invited us to the Amarillo Sod Poodles Game. We got to talk about Mission 2540 before the game and in the broadcast booth. Samson, one of our Ridgecrest kids, got to throw out the first pitch and hang out with their mascot Ruckus on the field, and many of our kids and families got to sit in the outfield lawn to watch the game, courtesy of Advanced Eye Care. All told we had close to 50 kids and adults representing Mission 2540 at the game. It was a great night!
And of course, we’ve had our regular, good old fashioned daily summer fun, filled with games, water balloons, popsicles, and Bible stories. We even got to taste test beef sticks for Snack Pak 4 Kids at Ridgecrest and the North Grand Villas. It’s been a great start to summer, and we can’t wait for the rest of it!
