July is always our kids’ favorite month of the year. Why? Camp Awesome! We took 38 kids and 14 adults/teenagers to Hidden Falls Ranch on July 1 for our annual 3 days of crazy fun.

We climbed, hiked, swam, rode horses, tie-dyed our camp t-shirts, ate S’mores, laughed a lot, and ate some delicious food. It was a such a special time. This was probably the best group of kids we’ve had. We only a few near fights and tears, and very little discipline problems. Like we say – we call it Camp Awesome because it is!

Camp wasn’t all we did this summer. We had another great youth group come out for a “Week of Fun” at all 7 of our properties. The students of First Baptist Church of Frisco helped our kids escape the monotony (and heat) of late summer with games, crafts, and water balloons.

Our crew at Cantibury Pointe in Lubbock is going strong as well. Eli has put together a huge group of Tech students who rotate weeks coming out to hang with the crew down there. We’re so thankful for selfless students who make our kids feel special.

We only have a couple weeks of summer left. We plan to make the most of it – and throw as many water balloons as possible!
